Umpires: Introduction
One of the most important
elements in baseball is the position of umpire. Without umpires
to sanction and call our many league and tournament games, the
sport could simply not be played. MSBA is always looking for
young baseball fans to take up umpiring and, to that end, offers
support to those who choose umpiring as a great summer job from
May to August.
There are a number of umpiring clinics available to ensure you
have the skills and confidence to take the field as an umpire
and the association will provide you, free of charge, with all
of the necessary umpiring equipment (as long as you umpire for
MSBA).
Umpires must be 13 years of age or older, and we encourage both
girls and boys to become umpires. If you are interested in
becoming an umpire, please contact our Umpire in Chief for more
details.
Fresh air, plenty of baseball & softball and great pocket
cash.....become an umpire today!
