House League - Introduction
MSBA is proud to offer a competitive house
league program for T-ball, rookie ball, baseball, and softball.
In house league, emphasis is placed on fun, friendship and
physical activity. While skill development is important, house
league coaches do not place the same emphasis on skill
development, practice time and competitive expectation as do the
coaches in our rep programs.
To make your registration decision easier, the average time
commitment for a house league player at T-ball, rookie ball, and
Tyke & Peewee level of baseball on a weekly basis is three
hours, consisting of one 2-hour game and one 1-hour practice.
Games are always on week-day evenings and house league players
typically do not participate in weekend tournaments. T-ball
plays on Tuesdays. Rookie ball plays on Mondays. Tyke plays on
Tuesdays. Peewee will be playing on Tuesday nights at 615pm and
8:30pm. The average game commitment is 15 per summer. At Bantam,
and Midget levels, teams average 1½ games per week (3 games over
2 weeks) plus one practice.
We provide a more detailed description of both
T-ball and rookie
ball so you may have a better understanding of each game. (We
will assume you have a basic understanding of baseball and
softball as mainstream sports.)
Other house league baseball programs are offered through our
affiliation
with the Mississauga Baseball Association (MBA) with its "A"
loop intercity
system. Additionally, we offer a complete softball program
through our
affiliation with the
Mississauga Girls Softball Association.
