MSBA Coaches - Conduct Expectations
Protecting and enhancing your child's T-ball, rookie
ball, baseball, or softball experience is a primary
responsibility of MSBA.
To that end, all MSBA coaches are required to sign an
association Code of Conduct agreement as a condition of
coaching. The code of conduct governs such things as how
the coach interacts with the players, how the coach
behaves during games and practices, and how the coach
interacts with umpires, officials, parents, and other
coaches.
Coaches are both mentors and role models to their
players, as well as ambassadors for our association. MSBA
expects integrity and professionalism to be displayed at
all times, by all its coaches, and will not condone any
actions to the contrary.

MSBA Coaches
National Coaching Certification Program
In order to facilitate player
development and provide the highest quality baseball experience,
MSBA supports the certification of its coaches through the
National Coaching Certification Program governed by the Coaching
Association of Canada. While MSBA encourages certification at
all levels of play, NCCP certification is not required for those
coaches involved in our house league program.
However, all MSBA coaches involved with our rep team program
must be certified at Level One before they take the field for
any regular season or tournament game. While Level One is the
minimum requirement, many of our coaches have completed Level
Two.
The five levels of the NCCP have been carefully designed to meet
the needs of a wide range of coaches, from those who introduce
youngsters to sport to those who coach high-performance
athletes. Levels One, Two, and Three are designed for coaches of
developing athletes, such as coaches of community, school, or
club-level sport programs.
